Charlamagne Tha God has roasted the team behind Wendy Williams\u2019 upcoming documentary, questioning their motives and accusing them of taking advantage of his ex-boss.<\/p>\n

The official trailer for the documentary, Where is Wendy Williams?<\/em>, dropped on Thursday (February 1). It\u2019s set to premiere on Lifetime on February 24. In the trailer, Williams\u2019 son Kevin Hunter Jr. can be seen complaining about the people surrounding his mother, insisting that they were \u201cyes people\u201d who were putting the venerated talk show host in a vulnerable position.<\/p>\n

And this is claim was echoed by The Breakfast Club<\/em> co-host, who started his career alongside Williams on The Wendy Williams Experience<\/em>, before he was fired by Williams\u2019 ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr. in 2008.<\/p>\n

\u201cI immedia<\/a>tely prayed for Wendy after I watched that,\u201d he said on the show on Friday (February 2). \u201cAnd I don\u2019t understand why they got the camera in that woman\u2019s face. Y\u2019all takin\u2019 advantage of the dysfunction. Why do you want to document somebody\u2019s downfall?\u201d<\/p>\n

Last June, Wendy Willams\u2019 son expressed concern over his mother\u2019s alcoholism and said her team has caused her disease to spiral to a near-fatal extent.<\/p>\n

Kevin Hunter Jr. spoke about his ailing mother with\u00a0The U.S. Sun<\/em><\/a>, and accused Wendy\u2019s inner circle of taking advantage of her wealth, fame, and inability to make sound decisions due to her battle with severe alcoholism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there are all sorts of things happ<\/a>ening that I know in her right mind she would never agree to,\u201d Kevin said. \u201cAs hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I\u2019m making sure she, as a person, is okay, that is the important thing. Because eventually, she\u2019s going to realize the craziness that\u2019s been going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The controversial TV host was placed under guardianship in 2022 due to her declining health and mental state, with\u00a0The U.S. Sun<\/em>\u00a0reporting that Williams had been hospitalized in New York due to health concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she\u00a0needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion that should not be a priority at all. And whoever has been hired \u2014 they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better,\u201d Kevin said.<\/p>\n

Williams lived with Kevin in Florida from late 2021 to Spring 2022, during which time he said he tried to encourage her to eat healthier and exercise more, even taking her to restaurants that didn\u2019t serve alcohol. Yet the toll that alcohol takes on his mother is \u201cway worse\u201d compared to most people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know the rate that she uses alcohol isn\u2019t like a normal person \u2014 and we\u2019ve spoken about it,\u201d Kevin continued. \u201cI\u2019ve said, \u2018This is one thing where you don\u2019t know how to approach it normally, and that\u2019s fine.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s gotten to a point where yes, it could have that effect that it might be fatal because it affects her way worse than a normal person since it stays in her system.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
