DJ Clue is worried about the current state of Hip-Hop, and he doesn\u2019t see it getting much better any time soon.<\/p>\n

Taking to Twitter<\/a>\/X on Thursday (February 1), the legendary DJ lamented about the lack of \u201cfire material\u201d in the game<\/a> right now, though he does say there are some songs that are moving the needle.<\/p>\n

\u201cYa\u2019ll keep making excuses for these trash ass records and these trash bars\u2026shit gonna get worse and worse\u2026\u201d he began. \u201c\u2018Well this generation\u2019..& \u2018well these kids\u2019\u2026if it was a sport..& The games were TERRIBLE..The games would be terrible.<\/p>\n

\u201cSame shit..different toilet..pun intended [angel emoji]. There is some Fire material..but not a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time DJ Clue has spoken out about the current state of Hip-Hop. Back in 2022, ClueManatti offered some advice to those making music in the modern era as he noted what was lacking.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of these records would be better if these rapp<\/a>ers took a pen and pad and wrote their raps down,\u201d Clue tweeted. \u201cIt needs to be well thought out and not just saying anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cSome of these songs be A,B,C, and awful.. TF.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several people in Clue\u2019s comments agreed with his sentiments. \u201cWord I\u2019m so over it at this point,\u201d one user wrote<\/a>, adding: \u201cThe producer should be the star.\u201d\u00a0Another said<\/a>: \u201cFinally someone says it.\u201d\u00a0Some wanted Clue to bring up specific names.<\/p>\n

There are many rappers who pride themselves on never writing lyrics down and creating hits off the top, the most famous being JAY-Z and Lil Wayne. But not every artist has the capacity to do this.<\/p>\n

And while not everyone is qualified to make such statements, DJ Clue has certainly earned his strip<\/a>es in the game \u2013 and reminded everyone of such last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m your favorite A&R\u2019s.. Favorite A&R [100 emoji][left pointing emoji],\u201d Clue said on Twitter last April.<\/p>\n

Clue then followed up with a response as to why he feels this way about his own personal talents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen You talk about \u201cClue\u201d Mixtapes..don\u2019t forget to mention all the artists who no one had ever heard of who got record deals off of being on my tapes,\u201d Clue said \u201cAnd not no rappers you never heard of. I\u2019ll let ya\u2019ll drop the names below [side laughing emoji].\u201d<\/p>\n

From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, DJ Clue was one of the hottest DJs in the music business due to his infectious mixtapes.<\/p>\n

Over the last two decades, Clue has worked with a plethora of artists including JAY-Z, Fabolous, and Lil Wayne, to name a few. He also mentored an up-and-coming DJ Envy as a youngster.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
