\nTyne Daly will no longer be starring in the upcoming Broadway production of Doubt<\/em> after experiencing an undisclosed health-related issue.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nThe 77-year-old Emmy Award-winning actress was set to star as Sister Aloysius in the revival of John Patrick Shanley\u2019s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt: A Parable<\/em>, directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nOn Tuesday, PEOPLE confirmed that a recent hospitalization has caused Daly to withdraw from the role of the principal who grows suspicious of a priest at an all-boys Catholic school in the Bronx.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nThe first preview performance on Feb. 2 was canceled. The second on Feb. 3 featured Tony nominee Isabel Keating as Sister Aloysius, who will star until Amy Ryan steps in on Feb. 13.\n<\/p>\n

\nDaly had not performed in the role at all, a press release said. She was hospitalized on Friday, therefore, show organizers canceled the first preview held on that day.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\nDoubt: A Parable<\/em> will have its official opening on March 7 at the Todd Haimes Theatre on Broadway. Tickets can be purchased online at roundabouttheatre.org<\/a>, or in person at a Roundabout box office.\n<\/p>\n

\nDaly\u2019s career has spanned six decades. In addition to her six Emmy wins, she has also earned a Tony Award and is a member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame. She is best known for her work on Cagney & Lacey<\/em> and Judging Amy<\/em>. Daly has appeared in several Broadway shows, including credits for a revival of Gypsy<\/em>, Rabbit Hole<\/em> and Mothers and Sons<\/em>.\n<\/p>\n

\nRyan, 55, also has a history with Roundabout Theatre Company productions for her past performances in A Streetcar Named Desire<\/em> and Uncle Vanya<\/em>. She has an Oscar nomination for Gone Baby Gone<\/em> and played Holly Flax in The Office<\/em>.<\/p>\n
