\n A Tennessee state trooper has been arrested after allegedly ripping the facemask off a man during a filmed confrontation just outside of the state capitol.<\/p>\n

Trooper Harvey Briggs, 52, was booked by the Davidson County Sheriff\u2019s Office; he has been charged with assault and released on a $1,000 bond over the Aug. 10 incident.<\/p>\n

Briggs was allegedly caught on camera pulling off the mask of Andrew Golden, who claims he was trying to film a traffic stop at the time when Briggs app<\/a>roached him.<\/p>\n

A 22-year veteran at the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Briggs was fired on Aug. 14 for \u201cunprofessional conduct\u201d after Golden posted the video on Facebook<\/a>, WKRN reported.<\/p>\n

The video was taken at about 6:30 p.m., with Golden rolling his camera as he walked toward the car that was pulled over.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet back!\u201d Briggs can reportedly be heard yelling off-camera to Golden.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m filming and I\u2019m on the f\u2013king sidewalk,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n

Briggs can be heard admonishing Golden for cursing as Golden repeats that\u2019s he\u2019s on a public sidewalk.<\/p>\n

As the two continue to yell at each other, Briggs walks over and warns Golden not to \u201cimpede\u201d the officers making the traffic stop.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not impeding them!\u201d Golden responds.<\/p>\n

Briggs then moves in to gets inches away from Golden.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo not impede them, you understand?\u201d the trooper repeats.<\/p>\n

After Golden points his camera toward Briggs\u2019 identifying nametag, Briggs then rips off his facemask and throws it to the ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the f\u2013k!? Golden yells.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe just ripped the mask off my f\u2013king face!\u201d<\/p>\n

Briggs dismisses him as a liar, saying, \u201cC\u2019mon. C\u2019mon\u2026.I\u2019m tired of you people making stuff up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you mean, you people? I have it on film!\u201d Golden answers.<\/p>\n

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security conducted an internal investigation and found Birggs had violated department policy, the Miami Herald reported.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
