Beyonc\u00e9 has confirmed the long-held fan theory that the follow-up to her massive 2022 release\u00a0Renaissance: act i<\/em> will be a Country album, with the surprise release of two new singles.<\/p>\n

The megastar announced the arrival of Renaissance: act ii<\/em> in a multi-layered reveal that started with a new Super Bowl ad for Verizon. In it, Beyonc\u00e9 and the network\u2019s now iconic \u201cCan You Hear Me Now\u201d tech try a number of different schemes to see if Queen Bey can \u201cbreak the internet\u201d once again.<\/p>\n

The commercial ends with Beyonc\u00e9 blasting off to space, as a fictional news<\/a> anchor announces her plans to deliver the first live performance from space. In the last few seconds of the ad, Bey says, \u201cOkay, they ready, drop the new music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The surprise Verizon ad had the intended effect of driving fans to her social<\/a>s as they looked for additional hints as to how to access Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s latest offering. And moments after the ad premiered, she delivered with a Texas-theme<\/a>d trailer for the new project, which is set to arrive on March 29.<\/p>\n

Thirty minutes after sharing the trailer, she returned to Instagram to announce the release of two new singles, \u201cTexas Hold \u2018Em\u201d and \u201c16 Carriages.\u201d The artwork for the two singles seems to continue the silver theme she started with the first\u00a0Renaissance<\/em> album.<\/p>\n

The surprise drop comes after fans began speculating that Beyonc\u00e9 was hinting at a Country release, though they were mostly piecing together crumbs.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve cited things like Bey\u2019s country-inspired look at the 2024 Grammy Awards, as well a lyric on her 2019 single \u201cBlack Parade\u201d where she sings, \u201cI\u2019m going back to the South, where my roots ain\u2019t watered down<\/em>\u201d as potential proof that Act II would be a country LP.<\/p>\n

One thing that has been confirmed in the past is the original Renaissance<\/em> album was meant to start a trilogy. In November, New York Times<\/em>\u00a0reporter Kyle Buchanan wrote in a since-deleted tweet that Act II would be an \u201cacoustic album,\u201d and that Act III would be a collaboration with\u00a0JAY-Z. This was neither confirmed nor denied from Bey\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n
