He recently opened up about the topic of fatherhood during an interview with Bootleg Kev while under house arrest in Utah.<\/p>\n<p>While one of his children played on his lap, the rapper was asked how important being a parent is to him, to which he bluntly replied: \u201cI\u2019m not really big on it, to be honest. It\u2019s a crazy topic \u2019cause I\u2019m not the type to sugarcoat nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said that because of his house arrest, he essentially sits around in one room all day watching TV: \u201c[My kids and I] bond a lot, but I\u2019m mostly really inside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YoungBoy\u2019s comments drew the ire of Charlamagne Tha God who subsequently labeled him \u201cDonkey of the Day\u201d during an episode of <em>The Breakfast Club<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Charlamagne began his rant by joking: \u201cRight now, NBA YoungBoy\u2019s kids could almost fill out an entire NBA team roster,\u201d before continuing the basketball comparisons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has 11 kids, but in his words, he\u2019s \u2018not really big\u2019 on fatherhood. NBA YoungBoy is treating fatherhood the way the NBA\u2019s Nikola Joki\u0107 treats the NBA.\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whiskeyriff.com\/2023\/10\/03\/denver-nuggets-star-nikola-jokic-continues-to-hate-basketball-says-he-only-played-a-couple-of-times-over-the-summer\/\">You ever hear Joki\u0107 talk about basketball?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same level of don\u2019t-give-a-eff that Joki\u0107 has about basketball, NBA YoungBoy seems to have about being a father to his 11 kids. I shouldn\u2019t have to tell y\u2019all that one of those things is not like the other, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The radio host then turned serious and explained that he wanted to use YoungBoy\u2019s comments as a \u201cteachable moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo many of us come from broken homes,\u201d he said. \u201cSo many of us had fathers or mothers who weren\u2019t big on having kids. But what bothers me about statements like this is, NBA YoungBoy talks that gangster talk in his records. Not only does he talk that gangster talk, he talks that big money talk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/12250850\">the words of JAY-Z<\/a>, a man who don\u2019t care of his family can\u2019t be rich. So don\u2019t talk money talk to me if you\u2019re not big on fatherhood. And as far as being gangster, you can kill thousands of people in your records, but if you\u2019re not big on fatherhood, you\u2019re not G at all to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy do you have 11 children?\u201d he continued. \u201cDid it take 11 children to get to the point where you say you\u2019re not big on fatherhood? Listen, we are in the era of generational curse-breaking, okay? Those dysfunctional cycles that we had to deal with?
