\n Michael Cera would be up for a Barbie <\/em>spinoff focusing on his character, Allan. <\/p>\n

\n The actor stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em> on Monday, where he discussed Greta Gerwig\u2019s eight-time Oscar-nominated film and his now-beloved take on Ken\u2019s best friend. <\/p>\n

\n \u201c[It was an] amazing thing to be a part of,\u201d he told Jimmy Fallon of being in the biggest film of 2023. \u201cI mean, I couldn\u2019t believe that I had a chance to be a part of it. It just came out of nowhere for me. I think I was like a last-minute replacement of someone, the person they actually wanted.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n Cera was right. Barbie <\/em>casting directors Allison Jones and Lucy Bevan revealed that Jonathan Groff was the first person they app<\/a>roached to portray Allan in the film. They explained to Vanity Fair<\/em> that Groff couldn\u2019t take the role because of scheduling conflicts. \u201cDear, dear Jonathan Groff was like, \u2018I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m typing this, but I can\u2019t do Allan,’\u201d Jones told the publication<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n When the late night host asked Cera about the rumors of a possible Allan spinoff, the actor was surprised that people had been speculating about that. <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI think it would be kind of a weird movie, but I\u2019m there,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s kind of like an inactive character. He kind of just stands [there]. For me, the biggest inspiration for the character was Hans Moleman, that character in The Simpsons<\/em>. He just stands there all the time. For me, that\u2019s like the core of the character.\u201d <\/p>\n
