Russell Simmons has been accused of sexual assault once again, this time by a former employee at the record label he co-founded.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday (February 13), a woman who served as an executive at Def Jam during the \u201990s sued the mogul for sexual harassment and rape. Filed under Jane Doe in New York federal court, the lawsuit alleges false imprisonment, battery, emotional distress and a violation of the state\u2019s gender-motivated violence law.<\/p>\n

The plaintiff claims that the Queens native invited her to his apartment for work, though he started wrestling with her \u201cin an attempt to app<\/a>ear playful\u201d soon after and then pinned her down on a bed aggressively.<\/p>\n

\u201cMs. Doe repeatedly told Mr. Simmons to get off of her, but he refused,\u201d court documents<\/a> state. \u201cMr. Simmons proceeded to rape her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following that, the Hip Hop businessman allegedly continued to torment his employee at the workplace despite others telling him to stop, ultimately forcing her to resign in 1997.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would sit on her desk, lean over her, aggressively invading her personal space while making sexual innuendos, suggestions, and advances, and rubbing the front of his pants,\u201d the paperwork reads. \u201cMr. Simmons would follow Ms. Doe to the door or block her path to prevent her from opening it again.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement shared with HipHopDX<\/em>, the plaintiff\u2019s attorney Kenya K. Davis shared: \u201cAs detailed in the complaint, our client was sexually assaulted and harassed by her boss, Russell Simmons, while pursuing her professional ambitions as an executive at Def Jam.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was proud of her contributions to the burgeoning musical genre of Hip Hop, but her hard work and her career in music was disrupted and derailed by Mr. Simmons, a rich and powerful celebrity whose wealth and influence allowed his abusive behavior to go unchallenged for decades. Now a successful writer and producer in the entertainment industry, Jane Doe\u2019s traumatic experiences with Simmons echo those of so many other women who he has preyed upon for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just last year, Simmons admitted to being less than a gentleman in his past while flat-out denying sexually assaulting anyone even though several women have accused him of it in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took nine lie detector tests, people don\u2019t know that,\u201d he said in an interview with Graham Bensinger<\/a>. \u201cNine separate \u2014 seven from the Chairman of the Polygraph Association. One for each and serious accusation.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThree hours per test by two polygraph examiners \u2014 one that I\u2019ve never done this to anyone and one, I\u2019ve never done to each individual.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people say that they\u2019re not accurate, but it\u2019s 94 percent accurate. I did nine of them, it\u2019s pretty clear that I don\u2019t believe it. I even asked if, \u2018Well, what if I believe it, but it\u2019s not true?\u2019 He said, \u2018Your subconscious will get you.\u2019 I don\u2019t know how true that is, but that\u2019s what was told to me by the Chairman of the Polygraph Association.\u201d<\/p>\n

That segment began with a clip of a CBS<\/em> roundtable interview with Drew Dixon, Alexia Norton Jones and Sil Lai Abrams \u2014 three of the several women who previously accused the Phat Farm founder of sexual assault \u2014 that aired back in January 2020.<\/p>\n

In the clip, they take turns sharing graphic details of the alleged assaults by Simmons, with Jones saying he allegedly \u201cthrew [her] right up against the fucking wall\u201d and Dixon claiming he \u201cshowed up naked, wearing a condom and tackled me to his bed, while I screamed and fought and said no.\u201d<\/p>\n

HipHopDX<\/em> attempted to reach out to Russell Simmons for comment for this story, but did not receive an immedia<\/a>te response.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
