The success of Instacart\u2019s shoppable display and video ad formats suggests that advertisers are getting good results, so it may be worthwhile considering implementing these ad products into your campaign strategy. However, be aware that as Instacart gains more popularity, ad prices could increase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investment rate<\/strong>. The advertising and investment rate remained steady at 3.1% compared to the same period last year. However, it\u2019s important to note that the rate increased by 47 basis points in the previous year due to the introduction of shoppable display and video.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Takeaways<\/strong>. Additional key findings from the report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GTV of $30,322 million, up 5% year-over-year.<\/li>\n<li>Orders of 269.2 million, up 3% year-over-year.<\/li>\n<li>Total revenue of $3,042 million, up 19% year-over-year, representing 10.0% of GTV.<\/li>\n<li> Transaction revenue of $2,171 million, up 20% year-over-year, representing 7.2% of GTV.<\/li>\n<li>Advertising &amp; other revenue of $871 million, up 18% year-over-year, representing 2.9% of GTV.<\/li>\n<li>GAAP gross profit of $2,278 million, up 24% year-over-year, representing 7.5% of GTV and 75% of total revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What Instacart is saying<\/strong>. Fidji Simo, Chief Executive Officer, described Instacart as \u201cthe best advertising platform.\u201d He said in a statement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cCustomers rely on us for recurring large basket orders delivered in minutes, and brands use Instacart to connect with those high-intent customers. As a result, we\u2019re able to command upwards of $3 per order in on-platform advertising &amp; other revenue and on average, we deliver more than 15% sales lift for brands, which allows us to keep costs low for customers and retailers.\u201d <\/li>\n<li>\u201cNearly half of our customers report having discovered a new brand on Instacart, and nearly 8 in 10 of them went on to purchase that brand.
