This would help to keep data latency between data centres and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications as low as possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"AI_training_for_over_1_million_people\"><\/span><b>AI training for over 1 million people<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Germany is one of the world\u2019s leading <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> powerhouses, it suffers from a lack of AI skills, said Smith. In response, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the investment will include a programme for training up to 1.2 million people in new AI capabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Microsoft\u2019s outlay would \u201chelp build out infrastructure to help the German economy continue its use of AI and build out the skill base to fill the jobs required,\u201d according to the company\u2019s <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germany-microsoft-to-invest-33-billion-in-ai-capacities\/a-68265103\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vice chair<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The move tops the list of the tech giant\u2019s largest foreign investments. Last year, the firm pumped $3.14bn and $3.25bn into the UK and Australia respectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While more details will surely emerge in coming weeks, the big play by Microsoft comes at a time of significant growth for Germany\u2019s AI ecosystem.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In November, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heidelberg-based startup <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aleph Alpha <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">raised $500mn<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in one of Europe\u2019s largest AI rounds ever, while in the same month the German government <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.euractiv.com\/section\/artificial-intelligence\/news\/german-ai-action-plan-the-answer-to-chinese-and-us-dominance\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pledged<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u20ac1.6bn for the development of the technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the investments made by Germany \u2014 and the EU for that matter \u2014 pale in comparison with the huge sums being doled out in the US and China, the region\u2019s strength could be in quality over quantity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This mindset is embodied in the startups themselves.
