Total sales for Alan Wake II<\/em> have surpassed 1.3 million units worldwide, developer Remedy Entertainment announced<\/a>. It is the company\u2019s fastest selling game<\/a> to date. <\/p>\n

Alan Wake II<\/em> launched digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series<\/a>, and PC via Epic Games Store<\/a> on October 27, 2023. One million units were sold by the end of December 2023, and 1.3 million units by the beginning of February 2024.<\/p>\n

Alan Wake II<\/em> sold over 50 percent more copies and over three times more digital copies in its first month than Control<\/em> did in its first four months.<\/p>\n

Remedy Entertainment is currently developing two paid download<\/a>able contents that will expand the story of Alan Wake II<\/em>, as well as releasing updates and carrying out other activities to support the game and its community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are happy with the start of Alan Wake II<\/em>\u2018s sales,\u201d Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala said in a press release. \u201cThe price point has also remained at a high level, and the game has already recouped a significant part of the development and marketing expenses. We will continue to develop the game to serve existing fans and attract new players and expect the game to continue selling well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Virtala continued, \u201cThe successful launch of Alan Wake II<\/em> has supported our other game projects: Condor<\/em>, Control 2<\/em>, and Max Payne 1<\/em> and 2<\/em> remake have all increased development pace thanks to the personnel released from Alan Wake II<\/em>, and we expect these projects to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024. We now have two established franchises: Control<\/em> and Alan Wake<\/em>, which are linked through the Remedy Connected Universe. Growing and expanding these franchises will be a key part of our future.\u201d<\/p>\n
