Desus Nice has hit back at The Kid Mero after the latter made comments about their split.<\/p>\n

Mero had said their professional and personal breakup was down to business decisions the duo could not see eye to eye on.<\/p>\n

But Desus app<\/a>ears to disagree with Mero\u2019s version of events, posting in reply to the comments a gif of a man wearing an oversized cap, implying his former Desus & Mero<\/em> co-host was lying.<\/p>\n

Desus has yet to offer a further rebuttal, although he did like a post on X<\/a> that said: \u201cIDK. From this clip, it seems like Mero let it slip that he admits Desus was the more sought after talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Kid Mero, speaking on his 7AM in Brooklyn<\/em> podcast with Carmelo Anthony, explained how their highly-publicized split had to do with trying to get a movie made in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first I was upset, it\u2019s the business. There\u2019s no friends in the business,\u201d he began. \u201cAnd we was in a situation where I got four kids, two mortgages \u2026 I got real-life situations going on so I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, if we get an offer from DraftKings for $1.5 [million].\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you\u2019re like, \u2018Nah bro, this ain\u2019t it\u2019 \u2026 And I\u2019m like, \u2018This is going places, bro, we need to do this.\u2019 And you\u2019re like, \u2018Nah.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Fuck outta here.\u2019 To me, that\u2019s like the beginning of this shit [being] corroded. We\u2019re on different wavelengths.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThe next level of Hollywood is the three of us: Desus, Victor [Lopez, the pair\u2019s former manager] and myself, sitting down with Judd Apatow and saying, \u2018Yo, we\u2019re gonna do a movie.\u2019 Then the movie gets written and Desus was like, \u2018I ain\u2019t really feeling this shit.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I know in the business mind is like, yo, when you do a movie with this guy, you\u2019re not just doing a movie with this guy. This dude is a kingmaker in the film industry. If you get in there, you make a banger with him. You solidified.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what takes you up to the next level,\u201d he added. \u201cIf you get a little taste of that Hollywood, get a couple Rollies and shit, you get access to things and you good with that? That\u2019s not the type of time I was on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since sending their decade-long partnership in 2022, Desus Nice has gone on to guest host The Daily Show<\/em> while Mero recently launched 7AM in Brooklyn<\/em> along with another podcast called Victory Light<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
