Tech experts have dispelled this as an urban myth. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le has apparently reiterated the dubiousness of that strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The tech giant says on its support site that you should not put your wet iPhone into a bag of rice. &#8220;Doing so could allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone,&#8221; <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/102643#:~:text=Don't%20dry%20your%20iPhone,rice%20to%20damage%20your%20iPhone.\">its site reads<\/a>. Leave your iPhone in a dry area with some airflow.<\/li>\n<li>After at least 30 minutes, try charging your iPhone.<\/li>\n<li>If you see the alert again, leave your iPhone in a dry area with some airflow because it may take a day to fully dry; during this time you can attempt to charge it again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_do_if_your_smartphone_gets_wet_Hint_dont_put_it_in_rice\"><\/span>What to do if your smartphone gets wet. Samsung notes that some Galaxy devices are waterproof, so that helps. Should your device get wet, Samsung recommends:<\/p>\n<p><cta-atoms-container-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/cta\" class=\"spacer-large\"><\/cta-atoms-container-inline><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn the device off and remove the battery, if possible, the electronics giant says on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/my\/support\/mobile-devices\/i-dropped-my-device-in-water\/\">its support site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Wipe any moisture from the exterior, earphone jack and charging port, perhaps using a cotton ball or swab.<\/li>\n<li>If your device got wet from seawater, chlorinated water or drinks, you may actually want to soak it in clean water. (See how on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/my\/support\/mobile-devices\/i-dropped-my-device-in-water\/\">Samsung.com<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Then, air drying is recommended for waterlogged devices. Put your device to dry in a well-ventilated area or in the shade with cool air (from a fan). Don&#8217;t try to rapidly dry it with a hair dryer or hot air. Keep it in a cool, dry place.<\/li>\n<li>And don&#8217;t put your device in rice. If you happen to have silica gel packets that come packed with new products, put them and your device in a sealed plastic bag for 24\u201348 hours.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>After your device has dried, try powering it on.
