Beyonc\u00e9 has been called out by songwriter Tiffany Red over publishing royalties paid out by the superstar.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy video posted online, Red criticized a number of artists for taking songwriting credit where she claims it wasn\u2019t deserved.<\/p>\n

The Grammy-winning songwriter criticized the likes of Zendaya, Tamar Braxton and Sevyn Streeter for taking a percentage of publishing on songs they didn\u2019t write or produce.<\/p>\n

Red then took aim at Beyonc\u00e9 for similar practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason I called out Beyonc\u00e9 is because Beyonc\u00e9 is the Michael Jackson of our generation,\u201d she said. \u201cI talked to somebody yesterday who\u2019s the manager of somebody who\u2019s a writer and producer on Renaissance<\/em>. The record is one of y\u2019all faves. The song was written six years before it got to Beyonc\u00e9. She got 25 percent of the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cI spoke to another writer who wrote and sang on one of y\u2019all favorite songs. Credit not right, his business all fucked up. Beyonc\u00e9 was on tour last year with that record with that person\u2019s vocals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tiffany Red, who has worked with the likes of Cassie and Jennifer Hudson, added: \u201cThe reason why people who work for Beyonc\u00e9 don\u2019t talk is they\u2019re all on NDA\u2019s. Because that\u2019s how she works. She silences people so that nobody can speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also wrote on X: \u201cMy hope is that on Act ll @Beyonce will #PaySongwriters a songwriter fee and master points and not take publishing or songwriting credit on any songs she did not write.\u201d<\/p>\n

HipHopDX<\/em> has reached out to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s team for comment but has not yet received a response.<\/p>\n

Kelis previously called out Beyonc\u00e9 for similar reasons.<\/p>\n

In several posts uploaded to social media<\/a> in 2022, Kelis pointed out that Bey\u2019s Renaissance<\/em> song \u201cEnergy\u201d contained pieces of her 2003 hit \u201cMilkshake\u201d\u00a0and maintained she was never asked for permission.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mind is blown too\u00a0because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also directed her frustration at Pharrell, who produced \u201cMilkshake\u201d alongside his Neptunes production partner Chad Hugo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of hypocrisy and a lot of nonsense,\u201d she said. \u201cSo we\u2019ve got Pharrell who did an interview, I think, last year talking about artists rights and how how people should be able to rework their deals, and artists should be getting credit for what they\u2019ve done and all this stuff.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen in reality, when I was signed to him, I had the same manager that he had and he has writing credits on my records, all my singles, and he never wrote a song, a lyric a day in his life. And yeah, that\u2019s a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cMilkshake\u201d sample was later removed from \u201cEnergy,\u201d although Beyonc\u00e9 did not publicly comment on Kelis\u2019 allegations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
