T<\/i>he second of the two-part Given<\/em> anime<\/a> film sequel is coming to Japanese theaters this fall season. It will have the title Given: Umi E<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part 1, Given: Hiiragi Mix<\/em>, premiered in Japan on January 27. The Lerche<\/strong> production was directed by\u00a0Noriko Hashimoto<\/strong>\u00a0(Heroines Run the Show: The\u00a0Unpopular Girl and the Secret Task<\/em>) with returning character designer Mina Oosawa<\/strong> and returning script<\/a>writer Yuniko Ayana<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Given <\/em>anime is inspired by Natsuki<\/strong> Kizu<\/strong>\u2018s Shinshokan-published manga, which began serialization in Ch\u00e9ri+ in 2013 and released its ninth and final tankoubon volume in September 2023. A TV anime premiered in 2019, and a one-hour movie was released in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ritsuka Uenoyama is bored with it all\u2014with school, with his basketball club, and even with his one true passion: playing guitar. That is, until the day he finds his favorite hidden napping spot occupied by a strange boy cradling a broken-stringed guitar. At first, Uenoyama is nonplussed by Mafuyu Sato and his slightly odd behavior, but when, on a whim, he asks Mafuyu to sing, the power of that song pierces him to the core.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A spin-off manga, Given 10th mix<\/em>, started last month.<\/span><\/p>\n
