DDG has revealed that he\u2019s received an invaluable piece of advice from JAY-Z \u2014 even though it feeds into the \u201cdinner with Hova or $500K?\u201d meme.<\/p>\n

The YouTube<\/a>r-turned-rapp<\/a>er sat down with Hollywood Unlocked<\/em> on Wednesday (February 21). There, he revealed that the Hip Hop billionaire made an unforgettable food analogy when giving him business advice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve only talked to [JAY] a few times. It ain\u2019t like I text him and call him and shit like that, but we\u2019ve had conversations,\u201d DDG said. \u201cWhen I do see him, I try to ask him for a little bit of game<\/a>, a little bit of advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI asked him at [Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s] birthday party, I was like, \u2018What advice could you give me as an artist?\u2019 And he gave me like an analogy. He was like, \u2018If people go to a Chinese restaurant, they expecting Chinese food.\u2019 So, give the people what they came for.\u201d<\/p>\n

In October of 2023, JAY-Z himself finally settled the \u201cdinner with JAY-Z or $500K?\u201d debate.<\/p>\n

The Roc Nation mogul sat down with CBS News<\/a>\u2019 Gayle King for an interview inside his\u00a0\u201cBook of HOV\u201d library exhibit in Brooklyn, where he pointed out that he\u2019s been giving out game in his music all these years, so he\u2019d have nothing new to add during a supposed brainstorming session over dinner.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gotta take the money,\u201d he replied with little hesitation. \u201cWhat I\u2019ma say? You got all that [wisdom] in the music for $10.99! That\u2019s a bad deal. I wouldn\u2019t tell you to cut a bad deal. Take the $500,000, go buy some albums and listen to the albums \u2014 it\u2019s all there!<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you piece it together and really listen to the music for the words, for what it is, it\u2019s all there. Everything that I said was gonna happen, happened. Everything that I said I wanted to do, I\u2019ve done. There\u2019s the blueprint. The blueprint, literally, to me and my life and my journey is there already.\u201d<\/p>\n

JAY-Z was actually poked about the \u201c$500,000 or dinner?\u201d debate by a fan at the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys game at SoFi Stadium the week before his interview with CBS.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m taking that $500,000. I ain\u2019t taking that dinner, I\u2019m taking that $500,000,\u201d the fan, who calls himself K Rich, told the Brooklyn billionaire after bumping into him inside the arena. \u201cAye, it\u2019s love, though. You feel me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Hov responded by quietly patting his chest out of respect and giving the fan a fist bump. \u201cBe good, man,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
