Benny The Butcher has revealed he turned down a meeting with Donald Trump despite previously praising the former president.<\/p>\n

After causing a stir with his political opinions last year, the Everybody Can\u2019t Go<\/em> rapp<\/a>er took to X (formerly known as Twitter<\/a>) on Monday (January 26) to address his relationship with Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cTurned down a meeting with 45 last week,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

While the purpose of the proposed meeting is unclear, Donald Trump is running for re-election in the 2024 presidential election in November.<\/p>\n

When a fan asked why he declined to meet Trump, Benny replied: \u201cFor 1 I\u2019m not a politician I\u2019m a rapper, for 2 people dumb as shit and won\u2019t understand for 3 it\u2019s not that important to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another fan claimed the Griselda rapper\u2019s decision to not meet Trump was \u201cpretty fuckin stupid\u201d due to missing out an opportunity to \u201chelp his community.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to that comment, someone else brought up Ice Cube\u2019s decision to work with Trump\u2019s campaign and the backlash he received.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou mean like when @icecube went and tried to work a deal for black America and was dragged for it ?\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

Benny responded by simply writing: \u201cExactly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benny The Butcher previously showed his support for Donald Trump by revealing he would vote for him as president in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m votin Trump 2024,\u201d he wrote on X in August.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo, New York native was later asked about his comments during an appearance on the Juan Ep Is Life<\/em> podcast in November.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, this is what I\u2019m gonna say about that,\u201d he said. \u201cCelebrities aren\u2019t supposed to share their public opinion. And I learned that lesson that day. Their political opinion, I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, in January, Benny The Butcher elaborated further on his stance toward Trump, admitting he didn\u2019t know who he would be voting for in the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople in our position ain\u2019t supposed to speak on their political candidates,\u201d he said on The Breakfast Club<\/em>. \u201cI also learned everybody voting for Trump, y\u2019know what I\u2019m saying? Only president I voted for was [Barack] Obama, so I really was just talking shit.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of times, African Americans \u2014 we vote Democrat and what the fuck that been doing for us? That\u2019s all I mean, like what the Democrats been doing for us? I was expressing my frustrations on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI don\u2019t know who I\u2019m voting for.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
