Easy Mo Bee has claimed that he was \u201cblackballed\u201d in the music industry after confronting Diddy over production credits on one of Bad Boy\u2019s biggest hits.<\/p>\n

The veteran producer discussed his dealings with the embattled mogul during an interview with The Sample Lounge<\/em>, where he revealed they got into a dispute over the remix to Craig Mack\u2018s 1994 classic \u201cFlava in Ya Ear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mo Bee, who worked extensively with Bad Boy in the \u201990s and produced the original track, said: \u201cI remember we were gonna do the remix [of \u2018Flava in Ya Ear\u2019]. He had the idea to throw LL [COOL J], Busta [Rhymes], Rampage on there. Dope! <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I saw the record and it said, in this particular order: \u2018Remixed by Sean \u2018Puffy\u2019 Combs, Chucky Thompson and Easy Mo Bee,\u2019 I bugged out. I kinda flipped out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI was like, \u2018Wait a minute, you didn\u2019t do anything on the record! And Chucky Thompson, he kinda sat there and watched me do the remix in Sound on Sound Studios\u2019 \u2026 Because I didn\u2019t go along with the management thing, now my credit is getting taken?\u201d<\/p>\n

Easy Mo Bee then recalled confronting Diddy over the production credits.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went up there with my manager and spoke to him about it,\u201d he continued. \u201cI told him, \u2018Yo, do me a favor, man. Don\u2019t do that again. I don\u2019t like that.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom that point on, I think that\u2019s when the relationship changed over there. My relationships period started to change. I noticed that certain people wouldn\u2019t deal with me. I\u2019d heard about blackballing.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou mean to tell me from something like that, from me talking to him and telling him, \u2018I didn\u2019t like that. How can we fix the credit?\u2019 Is that what got me into this?\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the incident and the aftermath, the Grammy-winning producer said he does not regret the way he handled the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a man. I\u2019m a certain kind of man. This man, up to that point in my career, I didn\u2019t have any problems with like that,\u201d he said. \u201cI would do the same today. I\u2019m a man of principle. If blackballing is what they call it, then so be it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Easy Mo Bee was an integral part of Bad Boy\u2019s early success, producing The Notorious B.I.G.\u2018s first single \u201cParty and Bullshit\u201d as well as multiple tracks on the late rapp<\/a>er\u2019s albums Ready to Die<\/em> and Life After Death<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He is also one of the few producers to work with both Biggie and 2Pac having produced on \u2018Pac\u2019s Me Against the World<\/em> album.<\/p>\n

The producer\u2019s output notably decreased following his fallout with Bad Boy in the mid \u201990s.<\/p>\n

HipHopDX<\/em> has reached out to Diddy\u2019s team for comment but has not yet received a reply. Chucky Thompson, who has a member of Bad Boy\u2019s production team The Hitmen, died in 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
