Dame Dash has once again taken shots at longtime antagonist Lyor Cohen, this time over Young Thug.<\/p>\n

During a recent sitdown with Math Hoffa for Dame\u2019s America Nu Network, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder was asked whether the music industry \u201cencourages toxic behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

In answering, Dash brought up Young Thug, who is currently in jail while on trial for racketeering charges and whose songs were cited in his indictment.<\/p>\n

Thug is on the roster of 300 Entertainment<\/a>, a company co-founded by Cohen, a music industry veteran who, among many other positions, used to run Def Jam Records. Cohen left 300 in 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The music industry] only exists because <\/i>of toxic behavior,\u201d Dash began. \u201cThey take advantage of the dysfunction of our culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, if I see a kid that\u2019s making music about shit that\u2019s gonna get him killed because he\u2019s really doing it, I don\u2019t think I\u2019m putting they records out. I\u2019m not gonna enable that child.\u201d<\/p>\n

This led Dash to talking about Thug, who was arrested back in May 2022 and whose trial is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look at Young Thug, I\u2019m like, Lyor and them just made a big check and he\u2019s going to jail. They made money off his music.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if they made money off that music and he\u2019s in jail for that, then all that money they made off the music should not go to them. How do they get to get all that money and he has to get a jail cell?\u201d<\/p>\n

This is far from the first time that Dame Dash has had public issues with Lyor Cohen.<\/p>\n

A decade ago, Dash said on\u00a0VladTV<\/em> that Cohen was \u201ca fake CEO\u201d and a \u201cculture vulture\u201d before stating that the veteran executive is raping the culture and was responsible for ruining Roc-A-Fella Records.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy beef was with Lyor cause I think he\u2019s a fake CEO,\u201d the Harlem-bred mogul said. \u201cAnd I think he\u2019s fronting on my culture, but he can\u2019t front on anybody else. And I\u2019m calling him out publicly. And I want him to stop trying to rape my culture. Go make some money with some other people. Like, stop having your agenda be Hip Hop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Four years later, Dash re-upped the \u201cculture vulture\u201d accusation on\u00a0The Joe Budden Podcast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In a nearly six-minute segment, Dash slammed Cohen: \u201cA\u00a0culture vulture is someone that exploits the culture that he\u2019s not a part of, doesn\u2019t benefit the culture and takes care of his culture, and has no respect for the culture he\u2019s exploiting.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cAnd that\u2019s why Lyor is one because he\u2019s been making money off of our culture: he is not part of it, he\u2019s been exploiting it. Never helping, teaching or anything, doing what\u2019s in the best interest of his own pocket over the culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd to add insult to injury, he is not accepted in his own culture. He cannot get no money in his own culture so he comes to ours, acts like a big cat, pretends we need him when we don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
