Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom<\/em> is coming to the US. Special screenings for the movie will be held in Los Angeles and New York City on March 31, with a general<\/a> release to follow later.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Los Angeles screening for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom <\/em>will take place at the Regal LA Live and will feature a special talk show with Souichirou Hoshi<\/strong> (Kira Yamato), Rie Tanaka<\/strong> (Lacus Clyne), Michael Sinterniklaas<\/strong> (NYAV Post<\/a> president and dub producer), and Stephanie Sheh<\/strong> (English voice of Lacus Clyne and dub producer). The New York City screening will be hosted at Japan Society. For this screening, a comment from director Mitsuo Fukuda<\/strong> will be delivered via a video, and there will be a short talk show with Alyson Leigh Rosenfield<\/strong> (English voice of Lunamaria Hawke).<\/span><\/p>\n

Both events will present the English subtitled version of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom<\/em>. A separate, English dub screening will be held at Japan Society on April 1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those looking to attend the screenings can begin buying tickets on March 12 at 12 PM (on Eventbrite<\/a> for Los Angeles, the Japan Society website<\/a> for New York City). The March 31 screenings will include a Premium Ticket option that offers a commemorative art print, illustration card, and a HG 1\/144 STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM model kit. That\u2019s in addition to the Standard Ticket goodies, which are a commemorative pass, lanyard, Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice paper headbands, and special Shopper bag.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom<\/em> premiered in Japan on January 26. 4DX, MX4D, and Dolby Cinema screenings began two weeks later on February 9. The movie has made over 3.7 billion yen (~US$24.73 million) as of March 4, the highest gross of any Gundam movie.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the sequel to\u00a02002-2003\u2019s Seed and 2004-2005\u2019s Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny<\/em> TV series<\/a>, the Kingdom of Foundation app<\/a>roaches the Lacus Clyne-led peacekeeping outfit C.OM.P.S. with a joint plan against the anti-Coordinator faction Blue Cosmos. The announcement of a Seed<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Seed Destiny<\/em> follow-up movie was first made in 2006, and an update in 2021 revealed that the movie was in production. The movie\u2019s co-scriptwriter Chiaki Morosawa<\/strong>, who was the series composer for\u00a0Seed<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Seed Destiny<\/em>, passed away from aortic dissection in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n
