The Boy and the Heron<\/em> has been crowned the 47th Japan Academy Film Prize\u2019s Best Animated Work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The category\u2019s other nominees include Kitaro Tanjou: Gegege no Nazo<\/em>, Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window<\/em>, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine<\/em>, and Blue Giant<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Blue Giant<\/em> missed out on the Best Animated award, it won in Best Music for Hiromi Uehara\u2019s soundtrack. Its lead voice actor, Yuuki Yamada<\/strong>, won Best Actor (the Japan Academy website conferred the award based on his performances in Kingdom: Unmei no Honoo<\/em>, Godzilla Minus One<\/em>, Tokyo Revengers 2<\/em>, and Blue Giant<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Boy and the Heron<\/em> premiered in Japan on July 14, 2023 under the title of\u00a0Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru Ka?<\/em>\u00a0(How Do You Live?<\/em>). The Hayao Miyazaki\u00a0<\/strong>film has won two Annie prizes (Best Character Animation \u2013 Feature and Best Storyboarding \u2013 Feature), a Golden Globe Award (Best Animated Motion Picture), and is nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards.<\/span><\/p>\n
