Kanye West has said that he\u2019s considering all options for releasing his new album, including keeping it off of streaming services.<\/p>\n

Ye told the fan site YeFantatics, with whom he has been communicating in recent days, that he has been \u201ctalking with the team\u201d about the method of release for his new album with Ty Dolla $ign,\u00a0Vultures 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sell albums on Yeezy.com. I got 20 million instagram followers,\u201d he wrote to YeFanatics. \u201cWhen 5% of my followers buy an album [t]hat\u2019s 1 million albums sold[.] That\u2019s 300k more than the biggest album last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it\u2019s possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally[?]\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

West followed that message up by asking YeFanatics if it was possible to sell a million copies of the album.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we do that we won\u2019t have the streaming companies in control of the artist anymore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The fan account responded by sharing a poll it conducted about whether fans wanted the second and third parts of the\u00a0Vultures\u00a0<\/em>trilogy to be exclusively for sale on West\u2019s website<\/a>. As of this writing, 87.5% of respondents voted no.<\/p>\n

YeFanatics said that \u201cit would be nice\u201d if the album was available on streaming services, since \u201cmany fans do not have the option to pay for the album and others are going to hack it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ye responded, \u201cIt would be nice for our community to support the albums. Streaming is basically pirating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vultures 2<\/em> failed to arrive on its originally announced release date of Friday, March 8.<\/p>\n

In a direct message to YeFanatics in the early hours of what was supposed to be release day, Kanye addressed the delay and revealed that he and Ty are still working on the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi Ye. Will\u00a0Vultures 2<\/em>\u00a0be available today?\u201d Ye Fanatics asked the rapp<\/a>er, to which he simply replied: \u201cWe in the lab.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s currently unclear when\u00a0Vultures 2<\/em>\u00a0is expected to be released. A third installment,\u00a0Vultures 3<\/em>, was previously announced to be dropping on April 5.<\/p>\n

West has talked to YeFantatics not only about current ventures. He\u2019s also contacted them to correct reports about the projects he\u2019s working on.<\/p>\n

Last month,\u00a0the Chicago rap icon clarified to the fan site that he is not actually recording a new solo album called Y3<\/em>, as had been claimed by\u00a0Erick Sermon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is fake news<\/a>. Ain\u2019t no album called\u00a0Y3<\/em>,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAnd ain\u2019t nobody tryna be the \u2018old Ye.\u2019 When I made\u00a0808s [& Heartbreak]<\/em>\u00a0n-ggas was running round talking bought they miss the old Ye.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just made King \/ Back 2 Me \/ Carnival\/Talking just to name a few. We got the number 1 song in the world and number 1 album in the world with top level beats top level bars top level hooks top level features,\u201d he added, championing the success of\u00a0Vultures 1<\/em>.<\/p>\n
