\n Some social media<\/a> users on X (formerly Twitter) have come for the red and yellow backdrop at Vanity Fair\u2018<\/em>s 2024 Oscar Party, complaining that the colors remind them of the McDonald\u2019s fast-food chain.<\/p>\n

\n Scores of stars walked the carpet at the magazine\u2019s Academy Awards afterparty, one of the most exclusive invites in Hollywood, from Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Sofia Vergara to Amazon\u2019s Jeff Bezos and his fianc\u00e9<\/em>e, Lauren Sanchez.<\/p>\n

\n But instead of more restrained color palettes seen in recent years, including 2023\u2019s blue-and-silver combo, this year\u2019s Vanity Fair <\/em>Oscar Party featured much more blaring hues that share the colors of McDonald\u2019s fries packaging.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt looks like a big McDonald\u2019s,\u201d wrote X user @kenobisms.<\/p>\n

\n Agreed @Tthasage, \u201cWhy did Vanity fair after party choose this red carpet set up. It\u2019s so ugly reminds me of McDonalds and clashes with the clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The reaction to Vanity Fair\u2019<\/em>s Oscars Party backdrop follows criticism that erupted during and after the 2023 Emmy Awards in January. Chrissy Teigen in an Instagram story wrote that she was \u201cbegging award shows to have better looking step and repeats\u201d and many social media users posted that the large lettering saying Emmys and Fox was distracting and clashed with stars\u2019 outfits.<\/p>\n

\n It\u2019s hard to keep everyone happy when it comes to color choices for awards show carpets and red carpets. At last year\u2019s Oscars, organizers opted to do something different, going with a pale beige \u201cchampagne\u201d colored carpet. Not everyone was pleased especially if, like Jamie Lee Curtis, they were wearing beige dresses that were destined to get lost in the color scheme. Curtis\u00a0tweeted a day ahead of the telecast<\/a>\u00a0that \u201ctheir carpet is going to match my drapes.\u201d<\/p>\n
