The PC version of Final Fantasy XVI<\/em> is currently in the \u201cfinal stages of optimization,\u201d according to producer Naoki Yoshida. A demo is planned before release for users to determine whether the game<\/a> can run on their PC. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of where we are in development currently, we\u2019re trying to figure out the final stages of optimization right now,\u201d Yoshida told Game Informer<\/a>. \u201cWhen we can release the PC version might be dependent on that\u2014the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we\u2019re trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of when it\u2019s going to come out or when we can announce it, I\u2019d like to ask for more time on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yoshida continued, \u201cWe\u2019re looking to release a demo for the PC version as well. Again, we can\u2019t really talk about too much in terms of details of when it\u2019s going to come out\u2014I think in a little bit more time we\u2019ll be in a better place to announce things. But one thing\u2019s for sure: It won\u2019t be too distant in the future; it won\u2019t be a year, it won\u2019t be two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Square Enix will host a Final Fantasy XVI<\/em> panel<\/a> at PAX East 2024 in Boston on March 22, which will focus on the upcoming download<\/a>able content chapter \u201cThe Rising Tide.\u201d While it is unclear whether there will be any news<\/a> regarding the PC version here, it is possible.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy XVI<\/em> is available now for PlayStation 5.<\/p>\n
