And I\u2019m incredibly grateful for him,\u201d the actress and cooking star told USA TODAY Tuesday while discussing her <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.harpercollins.com\/products\/indulge-valerie-bertinelli?variant=41080657575970\">new cookbook, \u201cIndulge\u201d<\/a> (out April 2). \u201cIt\u2019s unlike any relationship that I\u2019ve ever experienced with a man. I don\u2019t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him, because I wasn\u2019t expecting it!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was not on my radar. I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y doing it. So this came out of left field, and I\u2019m grateful it did. She feels \u201cemotionally healthier\u201d when she skips alcohol, \u201cbecause it\u2019s a depressant.\u201d She hasn\u2019t had a drink since Jan. 1. \u201cThat just happened kind of accidentally, because I was doing dry January, then February came along, and now it\u2019s March and I still haven\u2019t drank, so it\u2019s like, oh, I guess I\u2019m not drinking now. But I\u2019m not setting myself up for failure. I\u2019m not saying I\u2019m never going to drink again because I might, I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<p><cta-atoms-container-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/cta\" class=\"spacer-large\"><\/cta-atoms-container-inline><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t want to feel the way I\u2019m going to feel after I\u2019ve had a glass of champagne. It was a super-long day, and if I add alcohol into that, I was going to wake up a little depressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m already sky-high, high as a kite, full of joy, I don\u2019t need the addition of alcohol that I used to think would make me happy or release anxiety. I was already feeling amazing.
