The Power<\/em> franchise may be expanding yet again on Starz. The cable network is developing a prequel series<\/a> called Origins<\/em>, following the early days of the popular Ghost and Tommy characters from the original Power<\/em> series.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Kathryn Busby, President of Programming for STARZ, said the following about the potential series:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we app<\/a>roach the 10-year anniversary of Power<\/em> it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power<\/em> universe. We can\u2019t wait to see how Origins<\/em> will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If ordered to series, Origins<\/em> will be the fourth spin-off from the original Power<\/em> series, which ran from 2014 until 2020.<\/p>\n

Power Book II: Ghost<\/em> debuted in 2021 and follows Ghost\u2019s son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) as he tries to establish himself in a new life. Others in the cast include Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Lovell, Adams-Gray, Paige Hurd, Woody McClain, Method Man, LaToya Tonodeo, and Mary J. Blige. Season four will debut later this year.<\/p>\n

Power Book III: Raising Kanan<\/em> is currently filming its fourth season in New York and follows the early life of Kanan Stark, first played by Curtis \u201c50 Cent\u201d Jackson, as he gets into the drug business. The show stars Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, and Joey Bada$$.<\/p>\n

Power Book IV: Force<\/em> is currently filming third-season episodes in Chicago and the story revolves around Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) as he moves to the Windy City. The drama also stars Lucien Cambric, Anthony Fleming III, Shane Harper, Isaac Keys, Kris D. Lofton, and Lili Simmons.<\/p>\n

Additional details about the Origins<\/em> project will be announced later.<\/p>\n
