Investing in climate tech should give it a head start \u2014 the sector remains one of the most <\/span>resilient<\/span> despite muted VC activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are on a mission to ensure that the best of European climate techs do not fail due to the dearth of funding beyond the earliest stages \u2014 that infamous \u2018Series<\/a> B valley of death\u2019 that has plagued European companies for too long,\u201d said Vi\u0161evi\u0107.<\/span><\/p>\n World Fund will use the fresh capital to make new investments in over 25 European climate tech and deep tech startups. This week, it co-led a <\/span>\u20ac25mn founding round in UK-based<\/span> Mission Zero, which builds energy-efficient <\/span>carbon capture machines<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The sheer size of its first fund puts the VC in good stead to provide a significant runway for these budding companies, it said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n World Fund managed to raise so much money partly thanks to what it calls the \u201cinstitutionalisation\u201d of climate tech \u2014 in other words, that the sector is maturing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Many of World Fund\u2019s new backers had never invested in first-time VC funds.
