Microsoft announced today that all users can now access Deep Search within Bing Search by clicking on the Deep Search button at the top of the search results page.<\/p>\n<p>Bing Deep Search was originally announced in December 2023 as a search engine that goes deeper on your queries using Bing\u2019s index and GPT-4 to give you more tailored and deeper search results. We then saw it go live briefly in early February, only to be taken down for more testing. It seemed to go live again <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/bing-deep-search-live-again-37008.html\">early this month<\/a> and now Microsoft is officially announcing its launch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is new. <\/strong>Jordi Ribas from Microsoft <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JordiRib1\/status\/1771214752485691797\">announced<\/a>, \u201cDeep search is now available. It uses our existing Bing index and leverages GPT-4 to expand and enhance your query, and determine possible intents. It then uses GPT-4 to discern all the possible intents and variations behind the query and compute de<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ions for each of them to create an \u201cideal set of results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After using a combination of querying techniques, Deep Search will surface results that typically wouldn\u2019t appear in Search results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deep Search results ranking.<\/strong>\u00a0The biggest factor is how well a page matches Bing\u2019s expanded description. A few other relevance and quality factors mentioned were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How well the topic matches.<\/li>\n<li>Whether it has an \u201cappropriate level of detail.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Whether the source is credible and trustworthy.<\/li>\n<li>Freshness.<\/li>\n<li>How popular the page is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It is slow, very slow.<\/strong>\u00a0Deep Search won\u2019t load as quickly as regular search results. It may take Deep Search up to 30 seconds to complete, Microsoft said. This makes the feature sound dead on arrival \u2013 as most searchers likely won\u2019t have that much patience.<\/p>\n<p>It does seem faster to run and a lot less buggy than what I saw in early February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong>\u00a0This is another variation of using AI for search results. These search results seem like they would drive more clicks than Bing Chat or Google Bard and even Google SGE.
