Fat Joe wants to help the people of Haiti amid a longstanding crisis in the country that has been further exacerbated by escalating gang violence.<\/p>\n

Addressing his followers in an Instagram Live on Saturday (March 23), Joey Crack urged those watching to get involved while also sharing his theory about why there\u2019s an issue in the first place.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s going on right now in my mind is Haiti,\u201d he began. \u201cAnd I been home just watching Haiti. And so to me, I got a feeling \u2014 just a conspiracy \u2014 that Haiti doesn\u2019t get the help it deserves because it is the first freed Black nation. Now I think they cursed them and said, \u2018Oh y\u2019all wanna be free? We gonna curse you for life.\u2019 Now France, after they left, they came back and put pressure on Haiti and said, \u2018Yo, for us to leave, you gotta give us a half a billion dollars.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSaid the money going to infrastructure, going to schools, going in everything. They gave the money back to France [and] that\u2019s why they in the situation. Then they got a lot of corruption themselves. So you gotta understand my best friend is Haitian, so I been well-versed in Haiti matters.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s just sad that it\u2019s right next to Santo Domingo \u2014 an hour away on a plane flight \u2014 and the shit is happ<\/a>ening. The other thing that\u2019s bothering me is that the Haitian people themselves that are going through the most problems, they telling people don\u2019t come in here.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cHaitians themselves are like, \u2018We don\u2019t want the UN, we don\u2019t want the United States,\u2019 so I don\u2019t know how we gonna help them! But we gotta help them. Okay? I want everybody to remember Haiti and remember what they going through. Put them in your prayers and figure out how we can help the Haitian people directly. Zoey Dollaz, Wyclef Jean, all the Haitians \u2013 let\u2019s get together. We gotta do some humanitarian, food whatever for Haiti. I\u2019m in!\u201d<\/p>\n

In a continued effort to use his platform for important issues and pressing concerns, Fat Joe and Kamala Harris recently got together recently to discuss the legal consequences of marijuana possession.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the rapper moderated a closed-door meeting<\/a> with the vice president, Kentucky governor Andy Beshear and a number of people who have been pardoned for previous weed-related convictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis issue is stark when one considers the fact that on the schedule currently marijuana is considered as dangerous as heroin,\u201d Harris said during the public-facing part of the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarijuana is considered as dangerous as heroin and more dangerous than fentanyl, which is absurd. Not to mention patently unfair.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though the discussion wasn\u2019t public, the Terror Squad boss told the press he was honored to be a part of the meeting by saying: \u201cWhen the vice president calls me, I stop everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
