Juelz Santana has responded to Cam\u2019ron and Ma$e for questioning his career decisions and lack of musical output.<\/p>\n

The Harlem rapp<\/a>er was criticized by Murda and his former Dipset cohort Cam for not living up to his early potential having only released two studio albums in over 20 years.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game<\/a><\/em> podcast late last year, the duo discussed Juelz\u2019s wasted potential, with Ma$e claiming he \u201ccould\u2019ve been Hov level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Killa Cam added: \u201cReal talk, he had it. And he had it at a young age. He could\u2019ve been the leader of everything that\u2019s going outside right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe could\u2019ve been all these young n-ggas\u2019 father, uncle, whatever you wanna call it. The chicks liked him, he could rap, he was fly. He had every element you needed to be that n-gga.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cam went on to criticize Santana\u2019s apparent reluctancy to release music: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say [he had] poor work ethic, but I\u2019m just not sure why. Juelz is sitting there with 300 songs in his hard drive and won\u2019t put it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Art of Dialogue<\/em> this week, Juelz Santana addressed the pair\u2019s criticism of his career trajectory and refuted the suggestion that he\u2019s \u201clazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t wanna say JAY-Z because I never strived to be JAY-Z. I was always just trying to be me. I definitely coulda been way further than I am. But I don\u2019t ever blame nobody. I blame myself for anything that held me back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou could never say I was lazy. If you look at my track record in the game, I didn\u2019t put out albums but for whatever reason, politic reasons, I didn\u2019t put out albums, I still gave hella music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 42-year-old further criticized labels including Def Jam for why he has only released two solo albums in his career, while also acknowledging that he didn\u2019t always have the right team around him.<\/p>\n

Santana recently addressed the delay behind his next project We In Motion<\/em>, which he has teased will be a Gangsta Grillz<\/em> collaboration with DJ Drama.<\/p>\n

\u201cTruth is I wasn\u2019t as ready as I thought I was,\u201d he admitted in an Instagram post. \u201cI want this album 2 be special\u2026 I understand the frustration but I promise [in] 2024 I\u2019m all innnn\u2026 I won\u2019t let y\u2019all down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juelz further explained that his upcoming project is an independent release, \u201cso all I really have is social media<\/a> to [promote].\u201d He added that \u201cwith the algorithm u don\u2019t even reach y\u2019all full audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking to rally his fanbase while offering them some hope, he concluded: \u201cI understand the frustration but I promise [in] 2024 I\u2019m allll innnn but I\u2019ma need help from my day 1s so lets get this #teamsantana going I wont let y\u2019all down.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
