\n Fashion influencer Danielle Bernstein has tested positive for COVID-19 \u2014 after followers accused her of spending the summer gallivanting in the Hamptons.<\/p>\n

Bernstein, who is behind the popular account WeWoreWhat, shared her diagnosis Saturday with her followers and said she was quarantined in her New York City apartment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI let everyone know who needed to and have been following all of my buildings\u2019 strict protocols to be here,\u201d she said in an Instagram story.<\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t say how she became infected with the virus \u2014 but has received backlash this summer for her time out East.<\/p>\n

Her escapades inspired an anonymous Instagram account dedicated to her \u201ccomplete disregard for a global pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I can\u2019t say I\u2019m surprised that Danielle has covid,\u201d @wedonttakecovidseriouslywhat wrote on its page, which has shared videos of Bernstein at parties and going out to restaurants.<\/p>\n

Others on social media<\/a> also accused the influencer of not being careful enough throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cweworewhat partied all summer maskless in the hamptons and now has covid she\u2019s just so stupid,\u201d wrote one Twitter user.<\/p>\n

Bernstein defended herself on her Instagram stories against the criticism, saying that she has followed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, wore a mask when necessary and \u201clived life in phase FOUR reopening of NY.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSmall groups, dining out, all of it is currently allowed. Guidelines are there to help us, but they are clearly not bullet proof,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cOf course I could have been more careful and still got it\u2026 the virus is still very much here and I will be taking it even more seriously going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bernstein\u2019s rep didn\u2019t immediately respond to request for comment.<\/p>\n

The embattled influencer was slammed on social media earlier this summer when she was accused of stealing a mask design from small business By Second Wind \u2014 a claim which she has vigorously denied.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
