\n A UK man gave his wife quite the scare when she asked him to buy a garden gnome \u2014 and he instead installed a ginormous, 200-pound, 11.5-foot statue of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in their home garden to her displeasure.<\/p>\n

Adrian Shaw, 52, of Leamington Spa, said he bought the $2,124 dinosaur replica after his wife of six years, Deborah, asked him to \u201cmake the garden look nice,\u201d Metro UK reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe suggested I clear away the weeds and maybe put a gnome on the patio which got me thinking,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought nothing could possibly look nicer in the garden than a 3.5 meter replica of a rampaging T-Rex, so I bought one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shaw had the dinosaur \u2014 which he named Dave \u2014 delivered and even hired a crane to lift it one day into the garden while his wife was working late.<\/p>\n

She returned when it was too dark to see their new garden dweller, so Shaw decided he would surprise her the next morning with his purchase.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d even set up my camera to capture her reaction, which I was expecting to be one of sheer delight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe loves the Jurassic Park films and watches all the David Attenborough documentaries, so I thought I couldn\u2019t go wrong with the purchase really.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Deborah later opened up the door to let out their dog and came face-to-face with the giant dinosaur.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could hear the screams and went running downstairs but even after the initial shock, she continued to scream,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

But despite his wife not being fond of their new outdoor furnishing, he insists Dave is not facing extinction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve fallen in love with Dave though and he\u2019s not going anywhere,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m sure Deborah will understand and grow to love him just as much as I do.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
