You might have caught a glimpse of his moves, perhaps at <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WQLxBnLCMKk\">the 2019 BET Awards with Cardi B<\/a> or <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/tydzrS00XMI?si=oYM7pcAyYm3_LDu1\">2023\u2019s Rolling Loud Miami<\/a>, impressive not for their intensity or complexity but for their synchronization and showmanship.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            These skills are displayed throughout the thoughtfully executed Set It Off tour, which positions Offset as a star in his own right, not just half of a power couple or one-third of Migos, the 2010s\u2019 biggest rap group. The set list largely draws from the namesake <i>Set It Off<\/i>, reenvisioning his October album via light restructuring and truncation. But casual fans can rest assured \u2014 he is going to do fan favorites.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content_block paragraph triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-260915\" class=\"content_block breaker triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left video\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"video_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\" style=\"padding-top: 56.25%;\">\n<p>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OFFSET CINCINNATI SHOW\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x3joCuYBgV8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script>\n \/\/trackYouTubeVideo('260915');\n<\/script><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-260911\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            Most of the venues on this tour have a capacity above 2,000, with bigger spots in Chicago and Los Angeles nearing 5,000. I saw Offset at one of the smallest: Bogart\u2019s in Cincinnati, Ohio (capacity 1,500). The crowd was healthily full, a touch less packed than when Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson came to town on a Tuesday evening last February, but more diverse and with a far lower percentage of high schoolers.<\/p>\n<p>            The concert\u2019s staging reflects Offset\u2019s stadium-size ambitions for his show\u2019s production. The standard setup at Bogart\u2019s is pretty basic: a big screen for showing video behind an artist and not much else. When we arrived on Friday night, the center of the stage was dominated by a large staircase leading to a platform eight to 10 feet off the ground. This gleaming white set piece was veiled in black during opening performances by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/moonrockmont\/\">Moonrock Mont<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/yrnmango_foo\/?hl=en\">Mango Foo<\/a>, SleazyWorld Go, and Skilla Baby, all of whom were suitably energetic and good sports about hyping up a restless audience: doors opened at 7, but Offset didn\u2019t take the stage until 10:30.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-260912\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            The moment he did, everything kicked into overdrive. Fog machines belched murky vapor, and backing tracks were punched up by live drums and guitars. Four dancers mirrored and accentuated Offset\u2019s moves and lyrics, efficient and emphatic. The staircase and platform setup opened up the vertical axis, letting the performance fill the entire field of vision and enabling better sightlines for those of us further from the barricade.<\/p>\n<p>            The crowd\u2019s biggest reactions were for Offset\u2019s most popular songs (\u201cBad &amp; Boujee\u201d), but newer solo tracks like Travis Scott-feature \u201cSAY MY GRACE\u201d also received enthusiastic rap-alongs. I experienced a pang of euphoria when the music cut out to let the audience rap a capella, \u201cRic Flair drip go <i>woo<\/i> on a bitch\/57 90 spent a <i>coupe<\/i> on my wrist.\u201d Even songs fans might not know as well were met with decent energy, buoyed by Offset\u2019s frankly magnetic stage presence. Roughly 45 minutes after his first song, he yelled into the mic, \u201cIF YOU GOT MORE THAN $100 IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT LET ME HEAR YOU SAY HELL YEAH.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-260916\" class=\"content_block breaker triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left pull_quote\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"pull_quote\"><p>All of this was exactly what you hope for when you pay good money to see a successful r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er. <\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-260913\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            Offset easily ranks among the most dexterous rappers in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>. Naturally, his breath control and delivery were on point. But his singing (both Auto-Tuned and not) was satisfying too \u2014 when he crooned along to Don Toliver\u2019s hook on \u201cWORTH IT,\u201d it felt impassioned rather than forced. Still, my favorite moments were visual rather than auditory, like when he broke into full choreography during the choruses of \u201cFAN\u201d and \u201cBIG DAWG.\u201d It was a little absurd, sure, but he was synced up and committed, and the moves felt organic rather than TikTok disposable. Unlike \u201cWAP\u201d or a K-pop group, these dances aren\u2019t aiming to wow the audience on their own merits but to pump up already-hype songs. In that, they more than succeeded \u2014 it was hard not to grin watching Offset hit a subdued shimmy in the middle of \u201cRap Saved Me.\u201d He relaxed a little at other points, focusing on rapping and letting his backup dancers do more of the movement as he bounced in place.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            All of this was exactly what you hope for when you pay good money to see a successful rapper. According to an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2024\/03\/18\/offset-aragon-ballroom-chicago-set-it-off-tour\/\"><i>The Chicago Tribune<\/i><\/a>, Offset put some of his own money behind the production, and that investment shows. \u201cI\u2019m trying to take myself out of that box of just a \u2018trap artist,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cI want people to respect me as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>            But he doesn\u2019t need any of these popstar accouterments to deliver a gripping performance. \u201cZEZE\u201d rang off as he led us in an Auto-Tune singalong, standing alone near the top of the stairs; with more room to breathe in-person than on-wax, <i>Set It Off<\/i> deep cut \u201cDON\u2019T LIE\u201d transfixed the crowd from start to finish, even if few of us knew the words. Of course, it was a thrill to scream along to \u201cPatek Water\u201d and \u201cFight Night,\u201d but it was the lesser-known tracks \u2014 \u201cSKYAMI\u201d with Mango Foo, \u201cMonday,\u201d the aforementioned \u201cDON\u2019T LIE\u201d \u2014 that stuck with me, the way the energy in the room stayed up even for the songs only a few people knew. At the close of the show, the fog machines erupted as lasers strobed, a thundercloud hovering over the stage. By the time it cleared, Offset was already backstage, out of sight.
