Lil Durk has upped the ante on Ice Cube\u2018s BIG3 proposal to Caitlin Clark, promising to double the N.W.A legend\u2019s already sizeable offer.<\/p>\n

The Chicago MC took to X (formerly Twitter<\/a>) on Monday (April 1) to declare his desire to lure the Iowa Hawkeyes star to the three-on-three league.<\/p>\n

In response to a post about Cube\u2019s initial $5 million offer to Clark, Durk wrote: \u201cI got 10 million come play with my 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cAll My Life\u201d hitmaker had earlier shared his thoughts on the player\u2019s performance in Iowa\u2019s 94-87 win over LSU to reach the Final Four of the NCAA Women\u2019s Basketball Tournament.<\/p>\n

Caitlin, who recently became the NCAA\u2019s all-time scoring leader, put up a typically dazzling display in which she posted 41 points, 12 assist and seven rebounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cOmg Clark,\u201d Durk simply wrote.<\/p>\n

Though Durk doesn\u2019t currently operate a team in Ice Cube\u2019s BIG3 league, his tweets certainly imply interest in becoming a coach.<\/p>\n

Last month, Ice Cube looked to make sports history by recruiting Caitlin Clark to BIG3.<\/p>\n

The news<\/a> was initially reported by\u00a0TMZ<\/a><\/em>, with the outlet revealing that the \u201cIt Was A Good Day\u201d rapp<\/a>er had offered the college star $5 million to play in his three-on-three basketball league, becoming the first woman to do so.<\/p>\n

The lucrative deal would see Clark participate in eight regular season game<\/a>s and potentially two playoff games if her team advances to the postseason.<\/p>\n

Clark would also receive \u201csubstantial additional compensation\u201d from merchandising and sponsorships while also still being allowed to play in the WNBA.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has already declared her eligibility for the 2024 WNBA Draft this month and is expected to join the Indiana Fever as the number one pick.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the report emerged, Ice Cube confirmed the news on Instagram, describing the offer as an opportunity to \u201cmake history and break down even more barriers for women athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship. But I won\u2019t deny what\u2019s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark,\u201d he began.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy wouldn\u2019t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3. The skeptics laughed when we made Nancy Lieberman the first female coach of a men\u2019s pro team, and she won the championship in her first year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen Lisa Leslie won it all in year two. With our offer, Caitlin Clark can make history and break down even more barriers for women athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0CNN<\/a><\/em>, when speaking to the media before her team\u2019s Sweet 16 matchup against Colorado a few days after Cube\u2019s news, Clark expressed her own surprise regarding the announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I found out about the BIG3 thing at the exact time you all did, and my main focus is on just playing basketball,\u201d revealed Clark. \u201cI honestly don\u2019t talk about those things with really anybody. I have other people that deal with it, and they haven\u2019t said a word to me about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy main focus is on this team and helping us find a way to beat Colorado and hopefully win another one after that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark accomplished both of those tasks, and will face the UConn Huskies on April 5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
