\n While opening up about her past vocal technique, Shakira said she feels like she used to \u201coverdo\u201d her signature yodel on her older songs.<\/p>\n

\n The Colombian superstar app<\/a>eared on a recent episode of Hot Ones<\/em>, where host Sean Evans asked what makes her \u201ccringe or wince\u201d when listening to her music from early in her career.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cSo many things. I think I used to overdo the cries in my voice,\u201d Shakira said, before briefly showing off her iconic yodel. \u201cI think it was exaggerated. A little baroque. You know?\u201d<\/span> <\/p>\n

\u201cToo much Shakira,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n

\n The \u201cWhenever, Wherever\u201d singer, who recently released her 12th studio album\u00a0Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran<\/em> in March, explained why she feels like she\u2019s grown as an artist, including her voice becoming much stronger over the years.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI noticed that after my pregnancies, my voice got thicker, more rounded, more full,\u201d the Grammy-winning artist said, referring to her two sons with whom she shares with her ex-partner\u00a0Gerard Piqu\u00e9. \u201cAlso, my choices are more mature. I have evolved as a woman, as a person, my intellect has evolved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Earlier in the interview, Evans specifically referenced her recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1<\/a>, where the singer said she \u201cused to suck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI feel that my voice keeps changing over the years, and I tell my [sons Milan and Sasha] that,\u201d Shakira said at the time. \u201cI sometimes listen to some music of mine with them. Not on purpose, but it just happens, you know, maybe some a song, some comes out on the playlist or on the radio or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The \u201cHips Don\u2019t Lie\u201d singer continued, \u201cI say, \u2018I used to suck. But, I think I\u2019ve evolved.\u2019 I like myself much better now as an artist, but that\u2019s only me.\u201d<\/p>\n
