\n Conan O\u2019Brien made his Tonight Show<\/em> return on Tuesday, and he and host Jimmy Fallon reminisced about O\u2019Brien\u2019s time with NBC\u2019s late-night shows.<\/p>\n

\n The comedia<\/a>n hosted Late Night<\/em> for 16 seasons, from 1993 to 2009 before his short tenure with The Tonight Show<\/em> from 2009 to 2010.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s weird to come back,\u201d O\u2019Brien told Fallon during his latest app<\/a>earance. \u201cI haven\u2019t been in this building for such a long time, and I haven\u2019t been on this floor in forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He added, \u201cI was here for 16 years doing the Late Night<\/em> show before we went out to L.A. and right across the hall \u2014 all these memories came flooding back to me.\u201d O\u2019Brien later joked that it was strange seeing other sets built in what used to be his show\u2019s studio.<\/p>\n

\n Earlier during their conversation, Fallon also noted that O\u2019Brien was his first-ever talk show appearance. The host proceeded to show a photo of himself as a guest on Late Night <\/em>with O\u2019Brien in 1999, adding, \u201cI was honored to be on your show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n O\u2019Brien\u2019s abrupt departure from NBC\u2019s The Tonight Show <\/em>remains one of the most unforgettable late-night exits. Though Jay Leno has already passed the Tonight<\/em> torch over to O\u2019Brien, the network began making plans for a new show with Leno in the same time slot. When O\u2019Brien left after just seven months at the helm, Leno then came back to host until 2014 when Fallon took over.<\/p>\n

\n During his memorable final time hosting Tonight<\/em> in 2019, he noted that the NBC show fulfilled his lifelong dream. He also added during his monologue at the time, \u201cI just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n During O\u2019Brien\u2019s latest Tonight Show<\/em> appearance, he also promoted his upcoming travel<\/a> series<\/a> Conan O\u2019Brien Must Go<\/em>, which hits Max on April 18.<\/p>\n
