Janet Jackson has sent the rumor mill into overdrive after sending a flirtatious message to ex-boyfriend Q-Tip on his birthday.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAll For You\u201d singer took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday (April 10) to wish the A Tribe Called Quest legend a happ<\/a>y birthday as he turned 53.<\/p>\n

Alongside a black-and-white portrait of Tip, she wrote: \u201c30 + yrs of friendship\u2026so special to me. Thank you for coming over last nite. Happy bday [blowing kiss emojis].\u201d<\/p>\n

The suggestive post sent the internet into a frenzy, with many speculating the former couple have rekindled their romance.<\/p>\n

\u201cJanet spinning the block with Q-Tip [eyes emoji],\u201d one person wrote on X<\/a>, while another said<\/a>: \u201coh i want janet and q-tip for each other SO BAD.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third user gushed<\/a>: \u201cThere\u2019s a parallel universe where Janet and Q-Tip are married and I bet climate change isn\u2019t a problem there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another of Janet\u2019s former flames also saw his name brought up, with one person joking<\/a>: \u201cJermaine Dupri just fell to his knees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Q-Tip first met Jackson on the set of John Singleton\u2019s classic 1993 film Poetic Justice<\/em>, where he played her boyfriend at the beginning of the film. Four years later, they collaborated on the smash hit \u201cGot \u2018Til It\u2019s Gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started dating after that,\u201d Tip said in a 2021 interview with Math Hoffa<\/a>. \u201cIt be cool and shit. She be making eggs and shit and I\u2019ll be chilling like, \u2018Yo, that\u2019s Penny!\u2019 to myself. I love her to death and she\u2019s a Jackson \u2014 that\u2019s Black royalty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair dated for a few years until calling it quits in 2002, although it\u2019s unclear what led to their breakup.<\/p>\n

Prior to his birthday, Q-Tip was mourning the loss of a beloved musician.<\/p>\n

The rapper\/producer was one of many who paid tribute to saxophonist Casey Benjamin, who died in late March at the age of 45. His brother, Kevin, revealed that his cause of death was pulmonary thromboembolism.<\/p>\n

Tip posted a picture online of the two of them together along with the caption: \u201cCirca. Infinite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benjamin was best known for his work with Robert Glasper and also contributed to A Tribe Called Quest\u2019s final album\u00a0We Got It From Here\u2026 Thank You 4 Your Service<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
