Kendrick Lamar and his pgLang partner Dave Free\u2018s live-action comedy film with South Park<\/em> creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone is hitting theaters next summer.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a><\/em> reported Thursday (April 11) that the movie will be released on July 4, 2025 and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. It\u2019s unclear if Kendrick will also app<\/a>ear in the film, as the report only references the production side for now.<\/p>\n

A post from Discussing Film<\/a><\/em> added further details, noting it would be a musical and would follow \u201ca young Black man interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum who discovers that his white girlfriend\u2019s ancestors once owned his.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the musical side of things, Kendrick Lamar and Drake are both in the process of preparing nuclear diss songs as part of their ongoing beef, at least according to Joe Budden.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast<\/em> published on Wednesday (April 10), the\u00a0media<\/a> personality kicked things off by hyping the budding rivalry.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet out the way,\u201d he said. \u201cWhatever lil rappy shit you thought was going on, this not that. And something\u2019s coming. I think that J. Cole knows that from either Kendrick or Drake or both. And it was time to bow out, because now we are no longer in the first round.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cKendrick has earned himself a bye with Cole\u2019s apology, but I think that the insiders know\u2014 actually I have it on good information that both sides went in the booth and came out. What I\u2019m hearing about both sides is it\u2019s nuclear. It\u2019s up<\/em> up. I\u2019m hearing this from people that can rap, so I wanna come in here and say that speculation time is over. Debate time is over.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been saying for a few pods now that I\u2019ve seen absolutely nothing from Drake to get me excited enough to think that he will be capable of doing what needs to be done against the likes of a Kendrick Lamar. I am here to say that there is no longer any need for me to instigate it.\u201d<\/p>\n
