House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-L.a.) on Sunday discussed the urgency of passing a support package for Israel, stating that Congress was \u201cgoing to try again this week\u201d to move a package forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to try again this week, and the details of that package are being put together. Right now, we\u2019re looking at the options and all these supplemental issues,\u201d Johnson told Fox News<\/a> host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures when asked about the package.<\/p>\n Bartiromo asked Johnson if he considered former President Trump\u2019s proposal to turn aid for Ukraine into a loan.<\/p>\n \u201cI had a great visit with him [Trump] on Friday. And he and I are 100% united on these big agenda items\u2026 I think these are ideas that I think can get consensus, and that\u2019s what we\u2019ve been working through,\u201d Johnson said.<\/p>\n Johnson also discussed the Biden administration\u2019s response to Iran\u2019s attacks on Israel.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s important right now is that we stand with Israel; we should not be dictating to them what their policy is\u2026 They\u2019re fighting for their very existence, and it\u2019s never been more important for us to be there with them.
