Indio, CA –\u00a0<\/span>Tyler, the Creator and Jerrod Carmichael recently went viral after revealing that their friendship was once put to the test by one-sided romantic feelings, which the California native joking addressed during his latest performance.<\/p>\n

On Saturday (April 13), the Odd Future alum took the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for a headlining set that was packed with career-spanning hits and cameos. During his performance, he even set aside a moment to bring up his past drama with the actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m guessing ya\u2019ll got TikTok and probably seen my homie trying to fuck me on camera,\u201d he told the audience. \u201cOh, it was terrible.\u00a0 I told the n-gga \u2018no\u2019 and he said, \u2018But what about if we filmed it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, the two friends sat down for an in-depth conversation on the inaugural episode of the Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show<\/em>, during which the comedia<\/a>n revealed he expressed his feelings toward the rapp<\/a>er back in 2021.<\/p>\n

Tyler, who has hinted that he may be gay or bisexual in the past, responded by calling him a \u201cstupid bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old also asked the \u201cSee You Again\u201d hitmaker to be his date to the Emmy Awards in 2022, but was turned down.<\/p>\n

About the incident, the GOLF le FLEUR* boss said: \u201cGetting news<\/a> like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change. I didn\u2019t think brushing that off and continuing regularly would be such a dent. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also confessed to not seeing Carmichael in a romantic light as he added: \u201cThat\u2019s like a brother. That man\u2019s like family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The writer and filmmaker admitted to being hurt by the response, saying: \u201cIt\u2019s because I told you I had feelings for you, and we didn\u2019t talk about it, ever. That was, like, weird. I don\u2019t know if it was just too awkward to talk about or just too\u2026 I don\u2019t know. I feel like you left me hanging out there a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The On the Count of Three<\/em> actor, who made numerous contributions on Tyler\u2019s Grammy-winning album IGOR<\/em>, also acknowledged that he had \u201cunrequited\u201d feelings for his friend. Earlier in the episode, he detailed the incident as part of a stand-up routine.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fell in love with my best friend. 1 out of 10, don\u2019t recommend,\u201d he joked. \u201cI knew I had to tell him. Things started getting kind of weird between us. I had these feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I texted him. I remember saying, \u2018I know you didn\u2019t ask for this, but somewhere down the line I developed feelings for you and I don\u2019t know what to do with that.\u2019 Then I immediately turned my phone off and went into therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cMy therapist was thrilled. He was so excited! He was like, \u2018Man, this shit never happens in real time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
