The report, featuring interviews with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 climate experts and 3,000 companies, offers a roadmap for climate tech startups looking to scale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe really needed a common vocabulary and playbook for climate tech, and now with Climate Brick \u2014 we have it,\u201d said Rokas Peciulaitis, partner at Contrarian Ventures and one of Climate Brick\u2019s co-founders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrarian initiated Climate Brick alongside Swedish VC firm EQT Ventures. For each one (called Bricks) there is a unique risk profile, suggested capital stacks, and roadmap for scaling the business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These bricks include \u201cmoonshot\u201d companies, like those working in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and \u201cgigascale\u201d companies like those making batteries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Climate_tech_investment\"><\/span>Climate tech investment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe journey to scale in climate tech is unconventional compared to traditional venture capital investment,\u201d explained Sandra Malmberg, partner at EQT Ventures and a co-founder of the initiative. \u201cIt can be CAPEX intensive, it is influenced by regulatory developments, and has a complex stakeholder map.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Climate change is perhaps the greatest challenge of our time, and technology is critical to solving it. But to succeed, the world needs to mobilise funding at an unprecedented pace and scale. Climate tech also requires investors to prioritise long-term growth over short-term gain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McKinsey <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/capabilities\/risk-and-resilience\/our-insights\/financing-the-net-zero%20transition-from-planning-to-practice\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">estimates<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that humanity must invest at least <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20ac<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">270 trillion in climate tech by 2050 to meet net zero goals. That requires a global, coordinated effort on a level never seen before. It requires a blueprint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cClimate Brick is the missing manual to unite the community, enable better steering and target setting, improve capital allocation, and make stakeholder involvement more efficient \u2014 thereby generating impact at scale,\u201d said Malmberg.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While admittedly ambitious in its scope, Climate Brick couldn\u2019t have launched at a better time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European climate tech startups raised over $20 billion last year, the <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dealroom.co\/blog\/european-climate-tech-in-2023#:~:text=Key%20takeaways%20of%20European%20Climate%20Tech%20in%202023&amp;text=Europe's%20share%20of%20climate%20VC,tech%20VC%20growth%20against%202022.\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">second highest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on record. That\u2019s 43% of all global climate tech VC funding recorded that year, a big milestone considering 2023 saw <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one of history\u2019s<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">biggest downturns<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in VC funding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Climate Brick looks to capitalise on this momentum. \u201cIt is both a community to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bring stakeholders together to learn from the best, and a blueprint on how to scale climate tech companies at speed and scale,\u201d explained Peciulaitis. \u201cAll we need to do is put it into action.\u201d <\/span>\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
