And one company has been behind more impressive milestones than most \u2014 DeepMind, acquired by Google in 2014 for <span>a reported\u00a0<\/span>\u00a3400mn to \u00a3650mn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking at the TED 40th anniversary conference in Vancouver, Canada, on Monday, DeepMind\u2019s CEO and head of Google\u2019s entire AI R&amp;D efforts, Demis Hassabis, confirmed that Google has no intention of slowing down investment in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>. Sign up now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are investing more than that over time, and that is one of the reasons we teamed up with Google,\u201d Hassabis said. \u201cWe knew that in order to get to AGI, we would need a lot of compute and Google had, and still has, the most computers.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this sounds like the perfect scenario for an artificial intelligence arms race that could lead to \u201crolling the dice\u201d on things like reinforcement learning and AI safety, Hassabis reiterated that this must be avoided.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_through_the_%E2%80%9Cbottleneck%E2%80%9D_of_safe_AGI\"><\/span>Getting through the \u201cbottleneck\u201d of safe AGI<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the DeepMind CEO, this is especially important as we come nearer to achieving artificial <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> intelligence \u2014 AI that can match or surpass human cognitive abilities such as reasoning, planning, and remembering.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis technology is still relatively nascent, and so it\u2019s probably ok what is h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening at the moment,\u201d Hassabis said. But as we get closer to AGI we need to \u201cstart thinking as a society about the types of architectures that get built.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe good <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> is that most of these scientists who are working on this, we know each other quite well, we talk to each other a lot at conferences,\u201d Hassabis stated.
