21 Savage has been at the receiving end of a shot by boxer Ryan Garcia, who threw shade after the rapp<\/a>er walked out Garcia\u2019s opponent, Devin Haney, before their fight.<\/p>\n

After backstage footage emerged of the rapper chilling out in Haney\u2019s dressing room, followed by Savage\u2019s \u201cwalk-out\u201d with Haney, Garcia took to X, formerly known as Twitter<\/a>, on Sunday (April 21) to make a slick comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis proves 21 ain\u2019t no savage,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Shortly thereafter, it emerged that Garcia dedicated his boxing win to \u201call the children\u201d who had been victims of sex trafficking<\/a> \u2014 a fact made further symbolic by Haney\u2019s rumored friendship with Diddy.<\/p>\n

Boxing drama aside, 21 Savage has been making headlines recently for all the right reasons.<\/p>\n

Recently, it was revealed that the British expat was the only rapper to make it to this year\u2019s TIME<\/em> 100 Most Influential People list.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (April 17),\u00a0TIME<\/em>\u00a0published its annual\u00a0\u201cMost Influential People\u201d list for 2024<\/a>, with the Atlanta native being the sole Hip Hop artist being acknowledged.<\/p>\n

Burna Boy\u00a0(who is also on the list) wrote the\u00a0Without Warning<\/em>\u00a0hitmaker\u2019s\u00a0blurb<\/a>, which reads as follows: \u201cI trust my gut when it comes to my music and collaborations, and I find myself naturally drawn to artists like 21 Savage\u2014those who remain grounded in their convictions and consistently defy the constraints imposed upon them.\u201d<\/p>\n

It goes on: \u201cLike 21, I know what it\u2019s like to rise above challenging beginnings, and it makes his success all that much more remarkable. Throughout his work\u2014including on his newest album, American Dream, which opens with a reflection by his mother on their immigration story\u201421 maintains an authenticity that resonates deeply.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis approach to rap is refreshingly genuine; he speaks to us in a relatable way, effortlessly navigating the complexities of the genre. Whether he tackles weighty subjects or offers moments of levity, his delivery remains compelling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite TIME<\/em>\u2018s acknowlegement, Charlamagne Tha God recently declared a different artist the most influential rapper of the last decade.<\/p>\n

During an episode of the Brilliant Idiots<\/em> podcast with Andrew Schulz earlier this month, the radio personality heaped high praise on Future\u2019s career since his emergence in the early 2010s.<\/p>\n

While discussing the\u00a0reignited rivalry between Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J. Cole, the\u00a0Breakfast Club<\/em> host said: \u201cThey talking about a Big Three but really there\u2019s a Fantastic Four. If you really wanna get a little spicy, Future could be in the Big Three.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cFor better or worse, I can find a million Future clones all around the world. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any rapper that\u2019s influenced culture and music more than Future over the last decade. I think Future has influence. People wanna be<\/em>\u00a0Future, people wanna\u00a0sound<\/em>\u00a0like Future.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
