Meta AI launched with Microsoft Bing integrated in September. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> Gartner predicted search traffic will fall due to the rise of AI chatbots, virtual agents and AI answer engines providing direct answers, as opposed to having to click on a website to find an answer. However, the models (like Meta\u2019s Llama 3) don\u2019t have access to real-time data \u2013 so it makes sense for Meta to incorporate information from search engines.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1038259\/SEL_Post-text --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1693000027709-0\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"post-break\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>How Meta AI works.<\/strong> You can now enter searches in the search bar in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, Instagram, Whats<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a> and Messenger apps. When Meta AI includes search results, those will appear as a tappable link beneath the answer, as Sources. Tapping on that link will bring you to the web, but keep you within the Meta app.<\/p>\n<p>Meta AI will also appear in the main Facebook feed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What it looks like. <\/strong>Here\u2019s an image Meta shared of the search experience:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"836\" alt=\"Meta AI Search\" class=\"wp-image-439826\" src=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/wp-content\/seloads\/2024\/04\/meta-ai-search.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"836\" src=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/wp-content\/seloads\/2024\/04\/meta-ai-search.gif\" alt=\"Meta AI Search\" class=\"wp-image-439826\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The deal.<\/strong> \u201cThere\u2019s not a \u201cton of money\u201d flowing either way, Zuckerberg told tech rag <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/4\/19\/24135136\/how-meta-got-google-search-results-in-its-ai-chatbot\">the Verge<\/a>. He was also asked about Google outsourcing search to another AI assistant, despite having Gemini:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI guess I wouldn\u2019t have been surprised if they didn\u2019t want to do it. But it seems like they are building up a whole model around this, so it makes sense. It\u2019s good for Google. It shows Google prominently and links to Google. They pay Apple a ton of money for distribution. They\u2019re not paying us.
