However, this is just another delay. Third-party cookies will eventually go away \u2013 just not this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Google is saying:<\/strong> Google acknowledged concerns about the feedback and requests they have received from the industry, regulators, developers, and the CMA in a statement they released via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/privacysandbox.com\/intl\/en_us\/news\/update-on-the-plan-for-phase-out-of-third-party-cookies-on-chrome\/\">Privacy Sandbox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1038259\/SEL_Post-text --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1693000027709-0\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"post-break\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWe recognize that there are ongoing challenges related to reconciling divergent feedback from the industry, regulators and developers, and will continue to engage closely with the entire ecosystem.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s also critical that the CMA has sufficient time to review all evidence including results from industry tests, which the CMA has asked market participants to provide by the end of June.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGiven these significant considerations, we will not complete third-party cookie deprecation during the second half of Q4.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New deadline:<\/strong> Despite the delay, Google did not provide a specific timetable. Google expressed hope for completion by 2025.
