Malaysian cinema chain Golden Screen Cinemas announced that the Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle<\/em> anime<\/a> movie will begin screening on May 16.<\/span><\/p>\n

A fan\u2019s screening is also planned and will have details revealed later.<\/span><\/p>\n

Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle\u00a0<\/em>premiered in Japan on February 16 and is now the country\u2019s 47th highest-grossing movie with 9.78 billion yen (~US$62 million). The film tackles the Spring Nationals match between Karasuno and Nekoma and is the first new Haikyu!!<\/em> anime since the TV anime\u2019s fourth season, Haikyu!! To The Top<\/em>, in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime is based on the Shueisha-published Haikyu!! <\/em>manga by Haruichi Furudate<\/b>, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020 and is collected into 45 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the manga as:<\/span><\/p>\n

After losing his first and last volleyball match against Tobio Kageyama, \u201cthe King of the Court,\u201d Shoyo Hinata swears to become his rival after graduating middle school. But what happ<\/a>ens when the guy he wants to defeat ends up being his teammate?!<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The first season of the anime started airing in 2014. In 2022, it was announced that there would be a two-part Haikyu!! Final<\/em> movie.<\/span><\/p>\n
