\n Ricky Martin has been tapp<\/a>ed to headline L.A. Pride in the Park this summer. <\/p>\n

\n The performance will mark the Grammy Award-winner\u2019s first time taking center stage at a Pride event and the organization\u2019s first time with an openly gay Latin artist as a headliner. L.A. Pride in the Park will return to the Los Angeles State Historic Park on June 8, and will boast a theme of \u201cPower in Pride.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The news<\/a> for Martin comes as he\u2019s currently seen on the small screen in the Apple TV+ series<\/a> Palm Royale <\/em>opposite Kristen Wiig, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Kaia Gerber and Carol Burnett, among others. \u201cI am thrilled to be headlining L.A. Pride in the Park because it\u2019s an incredible opportunity to celebrate love, diversity, and equality,\u201d Martin said in a statement. \u201cL.A. Pride is a testament to the power of community, the power of visibility, and the power of standing up for our rights. Being part of this vibrant community fills me with pride and purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Gerald Garth, board president of Christopher Street West and L.A. Pride, praised Martin as an inspiration to millions around the world. \u201cHis participation in LA Pride in the Park goes beyond mere entertainment; it symbolizes a powerful affirmation of queer Latin identity and a celebration of diversity within the LGBTQ+ community. We cannot wait to be \u2018Livin\u2019 La Vida Loca\u2019 while beaming with Pride,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n

\n Martin, who has built a four decade career, gained fame as a member of the popular Latin American band Menudo before launching a successful solo career that has seen him conquer stages around the world and pick up armfuls of awards including two Grammys and four Latin Grammys. On the acting front, he\u2019s also been seen in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story<\/em> and Jingle Jangle.<\/em><\/p>\n
