{"id":618424,"date":"2024-04-26T21:15:11","date_gmt":"2024-04-26T18:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/janet-jackson-reveals-she-almost-landed-superhero-role\/"},"modified":"2024-04-26T21:15:11","modified_gmt":"2024-04-26T18:15:11","slug":"janet-jackson-reveals-she-almost-landed-superhero-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/janet-jackson-reveals-she-almost-landed-superhero-role\/","title":{"rendered":"#Janet Jackson Reveals She Almost Landed Superhero Role"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">Janet Jackson has done almost everything in her decades as a star, but she recently shared one thing she had the chance to accomplish but didn\u2019t: playing a superhero on the big screen.<\/p>\n<p>In a teaser clip of her <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance on\u00a0<em>The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> which airs Friday (April 26), Ms. Jackson (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ujnq2v6R02U\">if you\u2019re nasty<\/a>) discussed how she was offered the role of Storm in one of the 2000s <em>X-Men<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, a gig that eventually went to Halle Berry.<\/p>\n<p>The segment began with a photo of Janet at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards (see photos of her at the event <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/photos\/janet-jackson-2000-mtv-movie?assettype=image&amp;family=editorial&amp;phrase=janet%20jackson%202000%20mtv%20movie&amp;sort=best\">here<\/a>) dressed in a\u00a0<em>Matrix<\/em>-esque all-black outfit.<\/p>\n<p>One of the show\u2019s hosts used the picture as a prompt to say they had heard that Jackson was \u201calmost in <em>The Matrix<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d the pop icon responded. \u201cThis is horrible. I can\u2019t remember the film, but Halle Berry played Storm. But I couldn\u2019t [take the part] because I was just embarking on the Janet Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"instagram-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C6MczrzO9Ae\/embed\" width=\"320\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Jackson elaborated on the story on <em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=agBd73_G-oc\">The Steve Harvey Morning Show<\/a><\/em> back in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to play a superhero in a film,\u201d she said at the time in answer to a fan\u2019s question. \u201cI\u2019ve wanted to do that since the \u201990s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a matter of fact, [<em>X-Men<\/em> director] Bryan Singer came to me to play Storm for\u00a0<em>X-Men<\/em> before going to Halle Berry, and unfortunately, obviously, I didn\u2019t do it. I couldn\u2019t do it, because I was on the Janet Tour at the time.\u00a0Storm was always one of my favorite Marvel characters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to discussing her near-miss superhero turn, Janet Jackson was in the headlines for her birthday message to ex-boyfriend Q-Tip.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cAll For You\u201d singer took to her Instagram Stories earlier this month to wish the A Tribe Called Quest\u00a0legend a happy birthday as he turned 53.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside a black-and-white portrait of Tip, she wrote: \u201c30 + yrs of friendship\u2026so special to me. Thank you for coming over last nite. Happy bday [blowing kiss emojis].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The suggestive post sent the internet into a frenzy, with many speculating that the former couple have rekindled their romance.<\/p>\n<p>Q-Tip first met Jackson on the set of John Singleton\u2019s classic 1993 film\u00a0<em>Poetic Justice<\/em>, where he played her boyfriend at the beginning of the film. Four years later, they collaborated on the smash hit \u201cGot \u2018Til It\u2019s Gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started dating after that,\u201d Tip said in a 2021 interview with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w5kG4TM0vLE\">Math Hoffa<\/a>. \u201cIt be cool and shit. She be making eggs and shit and I\u2019ll be chilling like, \u2018Yo, that\u2019s Penny!\u2019 to myself.
