But this can be challenging or ineffective for individuals who are unable to communicate due to age or disability \u2014 resulting in underdiagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>Unaddressed hearing impairments can have serious consequences for both patients and the society, from mental health issues to high healthcare costs<\/p>\n<div class=\"inarticle-wrapper channel-cta\">\n<div class=\"ica-text\">\n<p class=\"ica-text__title\">Celebrate King&#8217;s Day with TNW Conference<\/p>\n<p>Use code GEZELLIG40 on your Business, Investor and Startup passes and get 40% off.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHearing loss profoundly impacts every facet of life,\u201d MindAffect\u2019s CEO Jennifer Goodall said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor children, this means risks of poor educational and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> development; for the elderly, increased isolation and a greater risk of early dementia; and the disabled, fewer opportunities for social inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_new_hearing_diagnostics_system\"><\/span>A new hearing diagnostics system<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To tackle this issue, MindAffect has combined neuro<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>, BCI technology, and AI to develop Aurora, a response-free hearing diagnostics system, which relies on brain stimuli and signals.<\/p>\n<p>Aurora uses a headband that patients wear while listening to soft chirps and watching a silent video for less than 10 minutes. The system reads the brain signals and combines the information with air conduction and bone conduction audiometric threshold tests to make the diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>MindAffect expects to launch Aurora next year.
