\n Barbra Streisand is seemingly taken aback by the backlash she has received regarding an Ozempic comment she left on Melissa McCarthy\u2018s latest Instagram post.<\/p>\n

\n The EGOT winner took to her social media<\/a> on Tuesday to offer an explanation for her remark, writing, \u201cOMG \u2013 I went on Instagram to see the photos we\u2019d posted of the beautiful flowers I\u2019d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world was reading!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n On Monday, McCarthy shared a photo on Instagram of herself with director Adam Shankman at the Center Theatre Group\u2019s CTG The Gala event in Los Angeles from the day prior. The Bridesmaids<\/em> star captioned her post, \u201cPastels only to honor the incredible @matthewbourne13 at the\u00a0@ctgla\u00a0gala last night with this fella\u00a0@adamshankman!! Thiiiiis much closer to my dream of dancing on stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Several other A-listers took to her comment section to react to the post, including Glenn Close, who wrote, \u201cGORGEOUS!!!\u201d and Octavia Spencer, who said, \u201cThese lewks are yummy.\u201d However, it was Streisand\u2019s comment about the weight-loss drug that led to discourse among fans.<\/p>\n

\n The singer-actress wrote in a since-deleted comment<\/a>, \u201cGive him my regards\u00a0did you take Ozempic?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n McCarthy\u2019s reps didn\u2019t immedia<\/a>tely respond to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

\n In recent years, Ozempic, a prescript<\/a>ion diabetes medication, has risen in popularity, including among those in Hollywood, to help people slim down. While McCarthy has opened up about her health journey in the past, she has not spoken publicly about using Ozempic\u00a0or other medications for weight loss.<\/p>\n

\n Streisand and McCarthy previously worked together for the singer\u2019s\u00a0Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway<\/em> album in 2016, for which they performed a duet of \u201cAnything You Can Do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
